Rule of Law, Access to Justice and ICLA

Overview

Rule of Law, Access to Justice and ICLA

Rule of Law projects strengthen the legal and judicial systems of a country to ensure fairness, accountability and Access to Justice for all citizens. They focus on building the capacity of institutions (including judiciary, justice departments and law enforcement), promoting and driving legislative reforms and empowering individuals to understand and exercise their rights – even in rights constrained environments. Rule of Law and Access to Justice is a foundation for economic development, and so essential for prosperity.

Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) programs deliver legal aid and legal counselling to refugees and displaced populations. ICLA is primarily designed to enable the provision of basic legal rights ranging from birth certificates to employment concerns.

The Humanitarian Impact Institute can conduct baseline or primary source research to inform program design, effective monitoring frameworks and then conduct external evaluations of Rule of Law, Access to Justice and ICLA projects.
