Child Protection in Humanitarian Action
Child Protection in Humanitarian Action
Overview
The Humanitarian Impact Institute complements the work of bodies such as the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE), clusters and the The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action. The Humanitarian Impact Institute works with implementers to ensure best practices in child protection are embedded into all programs, including education and health programs.
Thoughtful and deliberate child protection in humanitarian action is critical for reducing vulnerability in emergency contexts. Done well, child protection in humanitarian action can empower children and families, while also increasing community resilience in the present and the future.
The Humanitarian Impact Institute will work with programs at baseline or design stage, mid-line, end-line and through reviews to ensure that minimum standards are consistently applied while also assessing whether the opportunities and outcomes are achieved from those standards. We work collaboratively and harness and elevate the voices of children, families and communities during these processes.
Child centric approaches that are gender adapted, trauma informed, responsive to identifying and removing barriers and mainstreamed into programming and organisational culture will achieve the best results. Our child protection experts will help you identify, reflect and adapt to maximise the impact for children.
