Reconstruction
Reconstruction
Overview
Reconstruction programs occur after conflict, natural or man made disaster or other hazardous event. The initial stages of a reconstruction program are similar to a humanitarian emergency response, where basic infrastructure is re-established (for example through WASH, health systems and emergency shelter and winterization). However reconstruction programs differ in their focus on the medium to long term.
This includes physical construction, education and livelihoods, long term infrastructure projects and restoring social and economic systems.
The Humanitarian Impact Institute can help in the conduct of rapid needs assessments, analytical support, monitoring and evaluation systems that are community-centric and performance evaluations.
