Democracy Building and democracy promotion supports the creation and strengthening of democratic institutions, practices and values. This includes establishing, restoring or re-establishing democratic governance, enhancing policitcal participation, protecting human rights and the rule of law. Promoting accountability and transparency are fundamental principles of democracy building and democracy promotion.

The Humanitarian Impact Institute can conduct research to inform program design; establish effective democracy building monitoring frameworks; and conduct external evaluations and learning reviews.
